Waking Up With Jaw Pain? Introducing TMJ Massage Treatment

Waking Up With Jaw Pain? Introducing TMJ Massage Therapy

Do you wake up with a tense/stiff jaw, tension headaches or a clicking sound when you chew? Do you catch yourself clenching your teeth when you are stressed or concentrating?

If so, you might be dealing with Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction, commonly known as TMD or TMJD.

As a Registered Massage Therapist, I see a lot of clients in Bradford West Gwillimbury dealing with chronic neck and head pain. Often, the hidden culprit behind these issues is the jaw. That is why I am incredibly excited to announce that I am officially adding TMD/TMJD Treatments to my list of services!

Here is what you need to know about this new treatment and how it can help you find relief.

What is TMJD?

Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJD) refers to pain and movement issues in the jaw hinge (the TMJ) and the surrounding facial muscles. Because your jaw muscles are incredibly powerful and because we use them constantly to talk, chew and swallow, tension here can easily trigger a domino effect, leading to migraines, earaches and severe neck stiffness.

A Two-Phased Approach to Your Care

Because the jaw is such a delicate and complex area, I am dedicated to providing the highest standard of care. I have recently completed the online portion for the TMD course and I am attending the hands-on part of the course on May 25-26th.

External Treatment (Available Now!)

You do not have to wait to start feeling better. Starting immediately, you can book a TMD treatment where we will focus on the powerful muscles around the jaw. This includes targeted, external massage work on your neck, face, head and shoulders. Releasing the external tension pulling on the jaw joint provides massive relief for headaches and tension.

Intra-Oral Treatment (Coming Late May)

On May 25-26th, I will be completing the in-person clinical practicum for my certification. Following this hands-on training, I will officially introduce intra-oral (inside the mouth) massage to these sessions if indicated. This specialized technique allows me to access and release the internal jaw muscles directly for even deeper, longer-lasting relief.

Stop Living with Jaw Tension

If you are tired of waking up with an aching jaw or pushing through afternoon tension headaches, let’s start loosening those muscles today.

We can begin with targeted external work to get you immediate relief and I will be fully ready to incorporate intra-oral techniques by the end of May!
